What we do

Northbound’s holistic approach to care involves working with the mind and body to reduce pain and restore function.

We use simple movement, education, and hands-on treatment to help patients shift their body awareness and create habits that optimize movement.

Patients who love our approach have an interest in their mind-body connection and want simple movement prescriptions and lifestyle habits they can stick to make positive shifts in how they feel and what they can do.

We also believe in supporting the factors that make care accessible to your schedule by offering house calls, virtual care, and office visits to meet you where you are and at a frequency that matches your need.

Service can be delivered:

  • in your home within the Grand Traverse Region

  • Online

  • at Table Health or Pure Pilates in the Grand Traverse Commons.

coverage

Northbound does not participate with commercial insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid.

If you have insurance benefits we encourage you to use them if that is best for you! Some plans have you pay out of pocket for physical therapy before any benefits kick. Some clients with insurance choose to pay with their HSA.

If you have Medicare, you will need to use a participating provider, but we’d love to work with you afterwards for a wellness service.

If you have out-of-network benefits with your commercial or Medicare Advantage plan you can request a superbill to submit to your insurance for requesting reimbursement.

Service Costs:

  • PT Evaluation: $165

  • In-Person Follow Up: $140

  • Virtual Follow-up: $125

  • House Call Evaluation or Follow-up: starting at $200 (additional travel cost outside TC area)

HOW

EDUCATION

After assessing your posture and motion, your therapist will provide you with education about your problem, posture, and ergonomics, and what to do about it.

Exercise

Movement is usually key to improvement as reducing pain is often about restoring balance between muscle groups. Your therapist will teach you how to perform exercises correctly and why each is important.

HANDS ON

We utilize manual therapy techniques such as joint mobilizations, soft tissue massage, myofascial release, and other techniques as appropriate.
