Recovery
After being in the hospital, recovering at home is a convenient option.
Pre-surgically
Physical therapy can be helpful before a necessary surgery (often called “pre-hab”). This may consist of short plan of care in which your therapist will provide exercises and instructions to help make sure you are prepared for the best possible outcome after surgery.
post-surgically
Getting around after surgery is challenging. You’re sore, swollen, maybe using a walker or crutches, and you can’t drive.
Your therapist will help you improve your movement quality, build confidence, and make sure you know exactly what (and what not) to do in your recovery process.
Common surgeries we rehabilitate:
Total joint replacements
Arthroscopic surgeries
Rotator cuff repairs
Labral repairs
Foot and ankle surgeries
POst-hospitalization
If you or a loved one have been in the hospital, a rehab center, or have been discharged from home healthcare physical therapy, home-based PT is a great option.
Deconditioning happens quickly while in the hospital. For every day spent in bed, it takes about three days to recover that strength. Often times, discharge from the hospital, rehab, or home care, there is still ground to cover physically but a person is no longer appropriate for those services because they are medically stable. Once you are ready for outpatient services, we keep it simple by coming to you and helping you finish your recovery.
